Coating for Silicone Rubber by Shine Craft

Adding slip properties to silicone rubber.

In general, silicone rubber is not easily subjected to surface treatment, but it can be given slip properties through coating. It suppresses the self-adhesiveness of silicone rubber and forms a smooth, dry film. This helps improve sliding properties and prevent sticking. It can be applied to O-rings and molded products. Coating is possible not only on the outer surface of silicone tubes but also on the inner surface depending on the inner diameter and length.

Technical Data: Dry Lubrication Coating

Improved lubricity and wear resistance! A dry lubrication coating that gives functionality to the material surface!

This document provides a detailed explanation of "dry lubrication coatings," which primarily cover the surfaces of materials such as metals and resins to provide lubrication effects. When objects move, friction occurs. From this seemingly obvious combination, we respond to customer needs such as "wanting to reduce friction," "wanting to save labor," and "wanting to prevent noise" without using oil or grease. Our company has traditionally used oil and grease for lubrication, but by applying molybdenum disulfide and fluororesin coatings, we can reduce the coefficient of friction and improve wear resistance. 【Features】 ■ Lubrication properties ■ Durability ■ Heat and cold resistance ■ Anti-electrolysis effect *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Case Study on Problem Solving] I want to reduce wear on resin gears.

Contributing to longevity with dry lubrication coating! Dust generation thought to be caused by resin gears has also decreased.

We faced the issue that, although some parts were changed to resin gears for the purpose of quantification, there was a strength difference compared to the metal gears, leading to wear on the resin gears. Therefore, we applied a dry lubrication coating to the metal gears. As a result, the lifespan of the resin gears was extended, significantly increasing the lifespan of the unit, and reducing dust generation believed to be caused by the resin gears, leading to effects beyond our expectations. [Case Summary (Excerpt)] ■Challenge - Some parts were changed to resin gears for quantification, but there was a strength difference compared to the metal gears, causing wear on the resin gears. ■Solution - Apply a dry lubrication coating to the metal gears. - This allows for smoother sliding and reduces wear on the resin gears. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Shine Craft [Fluororesin Coating for Rubber]

Improved functionality with a rubber-specific 'fluororesin coating'!!

Conventional fluoropolymer coatings require shot blasting and high-temperature curing, making it difficult to process rubber. However, with Shine Kogei's special coating technology, "Rubber-Specific Fluoropolymer Coating," it is possible to form a fluoropolymer film on rubber without damaging the material. By applying the coating, the unique tackiness of rubber can be eliminated, leading to improved sliding properties. Additionally, other physical properties can be imparted. This allows for the replacement of expensive materials like silicone rubber and fluororubber with more affordable rubber. ◆ Inquiries ◆ When making an inquiry, it would be helpful to provide the following information for a smoother process: 1. The nature of the substrate to be coated (material, shape, size, etc.) 2. The purpose of the coating (e.g., non-stick, chemical resistance, sliding properties, etc.) 3. Usage conditions (e.g., temperature, chemicals, wear conditions, etc.) *If possible, providing drawings would be beneficial for estimating purposes.

[Case Study on Problem Solving] Prevention of Unusual Noises Caused by Stick-Slip Phenomenon Between Resin and Metal

Abolishing grease application and adopting DC2910! Examples of dry lubrication coating dry surfaces.

We would like to introduce a case of preventing abnormal noise caused by stick-slip phenomena between resin and metal in movable automotive cup holders and similar products. We were using grease lubrication to maintain low friction, but it was difficult to quantify, leading to occasional abnormal noise. Therefore, we discontinued grease application and adopted a dry lubrication coating, DC2910, which excels in low friction properties for the sliding parts on the metal side. This change not only improved reliability but also maintained rust resistance through processing on the plating. [Key Points for Problem Solving] - The trend of using resin for parts due to weight reduction is very common, not limited to this example. - Abnormal noises, such as so-called "buzzing sounds," occur due to discontinuous friction states. - To prevent this, the range of coatings with excellent low friction stability is expanding. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Case Study] Improvement of Wear Resistance in the Mechanism of Heat Recovery System

Dramatically improve the performance of the underlying PVD coating! Case study in exhaust heat recovery systems for HV vehicles.

We would like to introduce a case that solved the problem of "wear occurring at the sliding parts of stainless steel in high-temperature environments." The sliding parts were made of SUS materials, and applying lubricants was difficult. We considered nitriding treatment and hard coatings such as DLC, but we could not achieve satisfactory results. Therefore, instead of simply applying a PVD-type film, we significantly improved the performance of the underlying PVD coating by combining it with a high-temperature dry lubrication coating that excels in initial bedding and wear resistance. Our special pretreatment ensured the adhesion of the lubrication coating on the PVD. [Key Points of Problem Solving] ■ Sliding friction between stainless steel tends to cause seizure and galling. ■ Our wear-resistant coating quickly forms an ideal sliding surface and can be applied to areas under thermal load in high-temperature environments and high-performance engines. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Problem Solving Case] Wanted to reduce costs by substituting rolling bearings.

Cost reduction through the replacement of bearings in the rotating sliding parts of AT components! A case that ensures low friction.

We would like to introduce a case study of problem-solving using Japan MT's "Dry Lubrication Coating Dry Surface." There was a challenge of "using bearings to ensure a good feel and low friction during rotational motion, but it is difficult to reduce costs." In response, we implemented a PTFE coating on the inner surface as a simple bearing structure. This ensured low friction and made it possible to reduce the number of parts and control costs. [Key Points of Problem Solving] - The low-friction, sliding coating is formed with PTFE and a hard engineering plastic, and has a proven track record in sliding parts under light loads. - In fields where oil is used in conjunction, it is also possible to further reduce friction and wear, and in this case, the number of parts was reduced, contributing to cost savings. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Problem Solving Case] Adhesive film sticking to the cutting blade.

It is necessary to ensure the sharpness of the cutter while applying a non-stick treatment! Example of dry lubrication coating.

We would like to introduce a case study of problem-solving for special applications by Nippon MT Corporation. We were using non-coated products, but it was necessary to regularly remove adhesive substances, which significantly reduced productivity. Therefore, we processed with CE100C-MT. The adhesion of substances has decreased, resulting in less maintenance and replacement frequency. Additionally, the film thickness is about 2μm, allowing us to maintain sharpness. [Key Points of Problem Solving] - To make it difficult for adhesive substances to stick, Teflon coating is commonly used. - The film thickness of Teflon coating is about 20μm, so while it eliminates sticking for cutting tools, it may reduce sharpness and lead to other issues. - Generally, the processing temperature for Teflon coating is around 400°C, which can sometimes cause a decrease in the hardness of the cutting tool itself. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
